โยชิโนริ คิตาเสะ ปัจจุบันเป็นผู้จัดการแบรนด์ Final Fantasy ต่อจากคุณชินจิ ฮาชิโมโตะ ได้เขียนข้อความสวัสดีปีใหม่ โดยมีข้อความไฮไลต์บอกว่าจะมีการประกาศใหญ่บางอย่าง ที่ไม่เกี่ยวกับ Final Fantasy VII
ซึ่งหลังจากข้อความของคุณคิตาเสะเผยแพร่ออกมา ก็ทำเอาแฟน ๆ ทั่วโลก คาดเดาไปในทิศทางเดียวกันว่าการประกาสใหญ่นั้น น่าจะเป็นเรื่องของ Final Fantasy IX Remake ซึ่งกระทั่งเว็บไซต์ Gematsu เอง ก็เอาภาพ Final Fantasy IX Fanmade ขึ้นเป็นภาพปกข่าว
